How to Easily Boost Your Metabolism

The word metabolism is something you often come across in the weight loss industry.  But what does it actually mean?  Basically it’s how well your body is able to convert food into energy in order to keep your body going and to stay warm.  You metabolic rate is how quickly your body is able to convert calories into energy.

When losing weight you want your metabolic rate to be as high as possible as this means you’ll be burning off lots of calories.  If you have a poor metabolism it will mean you’ll put on weight and have low energy levels.   Roughly 75% of the calories you burn every day are just to keep your body going such as breathing, keeping your heart pumping and repairing your body.  This is what we call “basal metabolism.”

It can be very tempting to start drastically reducing the amount of calories and fat you eat in order to lose weight.  However by doing this you’re also putting your body at risk of developing a lower metabolism.  This in turn causes the number of calories you burn to be reduced and you’ll experience less weight loss.

Luckily there are some excellent ways of increasing your metabolism so that you lose the unwanted weight.  You might like some of the ideas and will be able to fit them into your daily life.

  • Make sure you get all the calories that your bod requires every day.  If you’re eating less than 1200 calories then this will actually slow your metabolism right down due to your body thinking that you’re starving.
  • When eating carbohydrates, make sure they’re of the “complex” type such as whole grains and sweet potatoes.  This will ensure energy is released slowly rather than giving you energy highs and lows.
  • Make sure you eat a good healthy breakfast.  This will help normalize your blood sugar meaning you won’t feel tempted to snack on unhealthy foods when you arrive at work.  It will also avoid “starvation mode.”
  • Healthy snacks throughout the day will help your metabolism.  Snacks can include nuts, seeds, fruit and vegetables.
  • Avoid eating large meals late at night.  You should aim to eat most of your food during the day when you’re able to burn the calories off.
  • Keep yourself busy and active.  Even simple exercising such as walking to the shops can help you burn off some calories.
  • A must for those looking to lose weight is to cut down on alcohol.  Alcohol isn’t good for the metabolism and it also interferes with the adsorption of nutrients.
  • One of the best forms of exercise for those looking to boost metabolism is to lift some weights.  You might already know that muscle burns off more calories than fat.  So the more muscle you have the more calories you burn.
  • Keeping your fluids up is a great way to stay hydrated and boost your metabolism.  You can get your fluids from drinking water, fruit juice as well as eating fruits and vegetables

In addition to the above, you should also consider a safe and healthy fat burner such as Phen375 which will help you along your way.
